Katie Walusiak, FNP-BC

Katie is a board certified nurse practitioner in both Family practice (FNP-BC), and adult gerontology acute care (AGACNP-BC). She is passionate about caring for patients of all ages, and the DPC model allows her to take the time to give each patient a holistic treatment plan.

Born and raised just north of Chicago, Katie graduated from Cornell College with a degree in art and psychology. Prior to nursing, Katie worked as a rehabilitation counselor for patients who had experienced traumatic brain injuries such as strokes or brain bleeds. She would work with these patients to regain the necessary life skills to live independently and become employed.

Katie went back to school, and received her master’s degree in nursing from Rush University in Chicago. As a registered nurse, Katie worked in trauma and neurological critical care, and in pain management. She was involved in numerous quality improvement and research projects at major academic medical centers in Chicago, the Seattle area, and in Colorado Springs. Katie continued her education and received a post-master’s certificate from Colorado State University - Pueblo. While passionate about preventative medicine, Katie also specializes in post-stroke and infertility care.

Katie lives with her husband and two young daughters. In her free time she enjoys hiking, cooking, outdoor projects and traveling.
